I got the hand cut fries and the ketchup was a great addition and very clever because they put mustard seeds it it and it added real spice and zing. You must get the Goat cheese fondue for an appetizer,it was great, I ordered the double cheeseburger and it had so much flavor it was a powerhouse of enjoyment. They also have outdoor seating, regular tables and high top table options. The lobby area or the bar and there is another little lounge area next to the bar with very comfortable seating and a giant Tic Tac Toe board. There are multiple locations where you can sit and relax if they are busy and you have a bit of a wait for your table, I would highly suggest you make a reservation on the weekends. the entrance way it smells lovely, they have candles going that they sell and they are amazing, it's a very rustic, cozy and atmosphere. The restaurant is charming, As you walk into. This was our first time here and it definitely will not be our last, how we have never been here is a complete mystery and I am still baffled that we have deprived ourselves for so long. Highly recommend this spot for people who enjoy a creative menu and innovative cocktails. It can get crowded though, so I'd recommend making reservations before you come. Great atmosphere as well with a beautiful backlit bar and both indoor and outdoor dining available. Everything we've ever had here has been very good, and I like that the food is locally sourced and made fresh. The serving was really generous, more than enough for two to share. Their famous whiskey cake with bourbon anglaise, spiced pecans, and homemade vanilla whipped cream is too good to resist. We usually don't order dessert when we go out, but it's a must here. The orzo was rich with lemon butter and Parmesan I would have liked a little bit more spinach to offset the richness, but the dish was good. It was perfectly cooked and served on a bed of orzo pasta with wilted spinach. For my entree, I had the mesquite grilled Texas redfish. I really enjoyed it and would definitely order it again. I wanted a celebratory cocktail, and our wonderful server suggested the guava gimlet - a tasty combination of guava. Whiskey Cake is one of our favorite restaurants, so it was only fitting that this was our first stop for indoor dining after being fully vaccinated. The style of food is delicate and thoughtful, so naturally the beverage list echoes this sentiment. As with all of our restaurants, we encourage shared dining in order to see the full scope of Tom and his team's considered menu. Diners can encircle our beautiful “Raw Bar” and watch the talented team flaunt their knife work, or they can slink behind the “shou sugi ban”* treated table by the other, larger open kitchen. On the menu, you’ll find head chef Tom Jack’s interpretation of classic Japanese dishes with seasonal flourishes, always prioritising local ingredients. Hôntô is inspired by contemporary Japanese cuisine and dining culture.
